Spiraling Toward Extinction

The Ammonite in this pendant is a prehistoric fossil of an extinct marine cephalopod approximately 100 million years old.  It is bezel set in a fine silver precious metal clay (.999) setting with textured background and attached fine silver bail. I then fused approximately a dozen tiny silver balls to the setting (granulation.) The setting was oxidized with liver of sulfur, polished to emphasize its texture, and then sealed with Renaissance Wax to help retain the color.

The pendant hangs on a 17 1/2" sterling silver cable chain.  A 1 1/2" sterling extension chain is finished with a small freshwater pearl at the end.

Pendant is 1 9/16" wide by 1 13/16" tall.

Stamped with my jeweler's mark on the back.

Organza gift bag included.
